2 great team selection/trials sessions for the junior mixed teams this morning. Thanks to Shane, Anu, Brett and the coaches and parents who helped out with the sessions or stayed to support their children. Thanks to Suranga Lakmal, former Sri Lankan cricket Captain who was on hand to provide support and tips to our young players. If you were not able to attend today there is another session next Saturday, 9-11 for Stage1 and 11-1 for Stage 2. Those who attended today are also invited for next week.

What a privilege for the kids at cricket training this week 🏏
Not only did we have our Director of WPC Cricket Coaching, Anu, down to assist with batting and bowling, but Papua New Guinea International and ICC Level 2 cricket coach normanvanua also dropped in to assist and share his wisdom ! 🌟
Both coaches shared some invaluable knowledge and tips with our players, coaches, and parents.
Looking forward to more training nights like this in the upcoming season! 💪🔥

We’re looking for volunteer helpers for the WPC Sign On/Open Day at Eddie Gilbert Memorial Field from 10 am to 2 pm on Sunday 2 August.
The day won’t be a success unless we can get volunteers (apart from the Management Committee or specific Operational volunteers) to participate in the organisation both before and on the day, so we need your help.
The activities we need help with are: Set up and clean up, Cricket activities in the nets and field, BBQ.

We wish to advise of 2 recent volunteer appointments – Junior Cricket Manager and Merchandising Officer.

Our new Junior Cricket Manager is Brett Whitmee who is taking up the role that has been vacant for some time. Brett is also a Stage 1 Team Coach.

Our new Merchandising Officer is Lucinda Pettit. Lucinda is also a junior team parent.

Please join with us in welcoming both of them to their new roles and please support them as they get acquainted with the roles in our busy summer season start up period.

Our new General Committee Member is Liesel Chiverton. She is being appointed to this new role on the Management Committee up to the Annual General Meeting (AGM) of 2026. Liesel is also the curator for Ducie St Park, assists with curating at CJ Greenfield, toilets cleaner and Social Media Administrator.
